HELP! I've submitted and I can't get up!

We have done our best to make Festivalus as user-friendly and easily navigable as possible. We have also answered some questions you may have as you move through the submission process. We want to help you get this done as quickly as possible because we know how much filling out forms and uploading stuff is not nearly as fun as writing and performing your music.

The creators of Festivalus have extensive experience working with thousands of artists ranging from platinum selling superstars to hard working indie bands that are 100% DIY. As always, feel free to email us at info@festivalus.com if you have any questions that are not addressed below.

How do I submit to play a specific festival or event?
Simply go to http://www.festivalus.com/insert_festival_name_here and click the big button on the right that says "Submit Your Band". That will take you to our submission form where you can begin adding your band's information. The good news is that you can save your progress as you go so you never have to start over if you don't have everything that the festival requires for your submission to be considered. Almost done submitting but you haven't received your final mixes for your songs? No big deal. Just save your progress as you move along and come back later to upload your music.

What if I don't have all of the information that is requested in the submission form?
Make sure you look at each section to see if it is *required by the event. If it's not required, move along. Each section will tell you whether or not it is "optional" or "required" to help you navigate through the sea of Festivalus.

Why aren't my photos uploading?
To better streamline the submission process and for festival admins to easily find your band's information, we narrowed down the upload options to accept JPEG or GIF files. If your photo file doesn't have the JPG, JPEG or GIF extension, there are some free programs on the interwebs that will convert your photo files into the proper format. This program can help: AVS Image Converter

Why aren't my songs uploading?
To better streamline the submission process and for festival administrators to easily find your band's information, we narrowed down the upload options to accept MP3 and M4A (iTunes) files. If your songs aren't being accepted, check out some free audio file converters like this one: Brothersoft Audio Converter

Why wasn't my band accepted to an event even though I submitted?
We don't have the answer to this one. While we take pride in providing festivals and events with as much data about your band as humanly possible, we cannot guarantee that they will choose your band to perform at their event. Each event has different parameters, limited slot availability and unique selection processes that factor into their decisions when sorting through submission applicants. If you think there was a technical error in the submission process of our website, be sure to email mike@festivalus.com. Otherwise, you will need to contact the festival administrator through the festival website.

My band wasn't accepted to an event. Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we are all taking risks here. Festivalus has absolutely no decision making power in regards to whether or not your band will be accepted to perform at the event for which you submitted. By submitting your band's information and paying the submission fee, you are agreeing that there is a chance that your band will not receive a slot at the event for which you are submitting. The submission fee guarantees that your band will be considered and reviewed by festival administrators, who have the final say in whether or not your band will be performing at their event. There are no refunds for band submissions. If you feel that you have a really good reason to receive a refund, we are interested in hearing it. Please email us at info@festivalus.com

Why am I being charged sales tax to submit to an event?
If you selected the state of Tennessee in your billing information during the checkout process, TN state law requires that we charge the standard 9.25% sales tax fee. Bands outside of TN will not be charged sales tax.

My credit card was declined or I don't have a PayPal account to checkout and finalize my submission. What do I do?
Try to find a friend or family member who is willing to use their credit card for you. You might have to play a few songs and work off the debt, but isn't that what being a musician is all about? Also, it is very simple to create a PayPal account if you don't have a credit card. If all else fails, contact the festival administrator through the festival website to see if they accept checks or cash as another form of payment.

I love Festivalus and my event NEEDS this submission platform to grow, save time and money and organize our band data. Who do I contact to discuss a partnership?
We agree. Your event does need us! Please click the "contact" link at the top of this page and email us. We will promptly respond to your request.

My question wasn't answered here, what do I do now?
Click our "contact" link at the top of this page, choose the appropriate department or issue and send us a message. We will respond in a timely fashion.
